Our Story

How it all started…

As a little girl I became deeply intrigued in my family heritage, and the old ways of living simply. There is a little valley in Centralia, WA where my ancestors homesteaded in the early 1920’s. I find myself so fortunate to be raising my kids in this same little gem of a valley known as the Little Hanaford. At the end of our road there are settling ponds, from the coal mine…growing up my Granny always told stories of the little town named Kopiah that was flooded under those settling ponds. This was the town where my great-great grandparents homesteaded and worked as coal miners. Thus, this dream of Kopiah Trading Post Co. was born.

 

 

 

It all begins with an idea of bringing the old ways back, and creating a simpler more meaningful way of life. We all can allow ourselves to get caught up in society to get sucked into this materialistic throw away world we are living in. However, if we care about the products we use for the better of the generations to follow us, then we can make a real difference in this world and our country.

USA made goods are the cornerstone of America, and the American dream. All of the products on this website are either hand created by American artisans or USA made with the pride of our country tied in.

Lets bring the old America back!!!
